Community Helpers

This activity was created specifically for a kindergarten classroom as they studied about various community helpers. This week, the focus is definitely on listening and typing. One community helper is on each slide, and the Mote note shares a little about their job. Finally, the student is asked to type the name/title of the helper in the box. (Don't worry, the name/title is provided for them right above the box!)

This was created in Google Slides and shared in Google Classroom as an assignment, using the "Make a copy" option for each student. You are welcome to add to this slide deck if you focus on different or more community helpers. I only have about 30 minutes with a class. The final slide shares a Highlights video for kids all about different jobs they might choose to do when they grow up! (Feel free to delete this; some students might never do the practice typing when they realize there is a video!)
