Place Value Bubbles

This math activity was inspired from a worksheet my youngest daughter brought home when she was in 2nd grade. They were learning about different ways to look at numbers and I thought this was pretty cool! Each numeral would require a new worksheet, so I designed this to allow for a duplication of the slide for a new numeral.

Additionally, I made one slide as the "title" slide with some info specifically for the teacher. It's ideal to delete the text but leave the bubble background. The second slide is "student ready" if you are good with all of the different ways to change the numeral. The 3rd slide has the map in the background of the slide (which you can edit) and the red numbers and blocks added in. I have also given you a 4th slide that is FULLY editable. You can go ahead and make any/all changes on this slide right away. Heads up - students tend to accidentally delete key components when the entire slide is editable. I'd recommend make your changes and then insert the map in the background.

This activity could also be done whole group on the projector. Challenge students to do several numerals. It's as easy as have a slide deck ready to go without numerals in the middle, but multiple copies of slides already there ... then just tell students what the numeral is.

This was created in Google Slides and shared in Google Classroom as an assignment, using the "Make a copy" option for each student. A bubble emoji would be helpful for students to easily identify it.
