Gingerbread!

This activity was created for a kindergarten class. It matches the week's theme - gingerbread! Who can resist one of these cuties! I will also tell you, there is a little "magic" when you open the Google Slide deck ... I KNOW your students will love it!

This activity is slightly different than many of the other activities shared. It is still visually appealing, and relies on Mote audio notes to give oral directions (which match the written directions), but that's where we shift gears.

Students are first asked to put together the gingerbread cookie that fell apart - a great way to introduce a mouse or use the arrows on the computer or using the click and drag skill with the trackpad - if you don't already know how important these skills are, try having your littles take any kind of online testing! This encourages them to use matching, and clicking & dragging (or mouse skills) while putting a gingerbread cookie back together. I've taken care of the layering aspect, so the bowtie & face items should not be hidden behind the body.

On the next slide, students are asked to drag the letters to the right spot to spell out a special - and long - word. Finally, students are asked to move gumdrops so they have the right number of gumdrops in the box with a number.

This was created in Google Slides and shared in Google Classroom as an assignment, using the "Make a copy" option for each student. I always recommend using some kind of emoji to better support your students in locating this activity.

As your students become more comfortable with seeing and doing activities, they will become a little more independent. You then will have the time and ability to help those who need extra guidance.
