Space sentences

This activity was created specifically for a kindergarten classroom. It is an "out of this world" activity! This teacher requested practice typing and specifically asked for use of Google Docs. We also specifically target the use and understanding of the space bar. The top of the Doc contains an intro and instruction about the space bar.

The classroom teacher provided the statements to be typed - we wanted to use content to practice typing - and the images are actually "Motes" that read the sentence to the students when clicked on. (This class was familiar with Motes from prior activities.) Each sentence has colored box, created by inserting a table from the "Insert" menu and changing the color of the table outline.

As with so many of the activities shared here, I hope this inspires you to create for your students. With a little bit of guidance and repetition, they definitely CAN use technology.
