Coin Challenge Jamboard (Keeler & Mattina) - now in Google Slides!

*** UPDATE - January 2024 ***
Since Jamboard is going away this year, we've converted this Jamboard to a Google Slide. Keeping in mind our kiddos probably have been using Google Slides already, it was easy to decide to go this route. You can still read the original post below ... never a bad idea to remember where it came from. The idea is a great one!!!

This activity was shared on Twitter by Alice Keeler (link to Tweet). She created this activity using Google's Jamboard app. I found it absolutely amazing and I had to share! You can make your own copy of it to use with your class right away.

Jamboard feels a lot like Google Slides, but a simple version AND has the ability to do free hand drawing. Jamboards are saved in Google Drive and can be shared in Google Classroom as an assignment, using the "Make a copy" option for each student.

This Coin Challenge will be sure to get your juices flowing! Once you have your own copy, be sure to modify it to fit your students. Use it as inspiration for a coin activity that better fits your students. Do you need to add a slide with a basic info about coins? Do you change the sort to just putting the selection of coins into the correct box (matching coin with name)? You know your content & students best ... be inspired.

The final "jam" (aka slide or page) shares information on Alice Keeler & Kim Mattina's book all about Jamboard. For teachers of littles, Jamboard is a MUST use! It's easy and fun.

Together we can integrate technology with purpose for ALL of our students ... even our little ones!
